What’s this “better experience?” Controller support, UI scaling, and cross-progression. “On one hand, we felt that we wouldn’t be doing the title justice by releasing a game originally designed for mobile on PC,” Blizzard writes, “on the other hand, we wanted to make sure the game reached as many players as possible-especially our most dedicated PC fans.” But, Blizzard explained, “the deciding factor was that we knew many of you would attempt to play this game through an emulator, thus leading us towards building a better experience.” Why the change from a mobile version to also launching on PC? Blizzard knows folks would try playing it via an emulator anyway, so they wanted to make sure those who want to play it on PC also have a good time with the game. It gives the devs an out if anything breaks on the PC version. And progress will carry over into the final version. I only used 4-wheel drive in the snow, and it has no problems makings it's way through very heavy snow. It all works good, but when not in use you don't even know its there. It has an Air-locker rear axle with the compressor under the hood, and has a front Auto-locker axle, which would be excellent for climbing and off-roading, whichwas on it when I purchased it. I installednew hood hold-down latches, new bright headlights, and new front side marker light assemblies. The hardtop was painted satin black at the same time. There is a small sign of rust coming through on the driver's side floor pan and signs of surface rust in other places, but other than it is well above average for a 1986. I had it painted in 2016, the paint is very nice (smooth like glass). Also replaced the valve cover and valve cover gasket. The inside of the engine looked really good, I believe it may have been rebuilt at some point. I recently replaced the front/rear oil seals and the oil pan gasket, and while I had the pan off the oil pump and rod/main bearings were replaced just because it was convenient. "For over 30 years, Warhammer 40,000 has grown into one of the world's best known science fantasy universes, featuring a huge variety of devastating war machines. In this latest collaboration, World of Tanks Blitz will soon be unveiling some unique content inspired by the massively popular gothic science fantasy game. ”Victory is achieved through mettle" is a motto that binds both World of Tanks Blitz and Warhammer 40,000. Unique content created for World of Tanks Blitz players will soon hit the frontlines! There is no place for weakness, no quarter is asked and none is given, and armored vehicles are extremely valued here. Their only goal is victory, and there is only one way to achieve it-to destroy enemy forces. Residents of these universes are tough, strong-willed, and brutal. Both World of Tanks Blitz and Warhammer 40,000 are about fierce battles. Once they go wrong there still is no clear path or liability or responsibility. The real concern is that these systems are seen to be infallible until they go wrong. There are so many caveats that they are just an experiment that does not go too badly wrong that these is a disaster.ĭiscussions around road markings or signs not being clear mis the point, to be actually useful you should not have to upgrade these factors to make something "work". These systems are not intelligent, just look at the total pigs ear we have with "self driving vehicles". Assisted decision making might be a better phrase. They are just sets of rule and algorithms that are supposed to be able to take jumbled data and do something useful with it.Įverything in this filed is dependent on what the seed data is and how those who program the rule see the outcome. AI, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning are the more recent fads on buzzword bingo that have been touted as the solution to everything. The heck, EA, leave us some time to play other games. Anyway, at least the game is decent, though I prefer NFS Heat with its manually selectable day and night cycles, transferable car upgrades, and, most importantly, the fact that I don’t need to re-unlock all my cars in online multiple like Unbound. Sword and Fairy: Together Forever (Console and PC) – July 5ĭammit, Microsoft, couldn’t you have added Need for Speed Unbound last month? The business aspect, however, is only one part of the airport’s importance. In a survey of big business done years ago, it was discovered that proximity to a commercial airport ranked high on the list of priorities when deciding whether to open a store within a community. The airport sees traffic from all the major employers in North Iowa on a regular basis. Located just six miles west of downtown Mason City, the Municipal Airport is categorized as a non-primary commercial service airport. Some for commercial use, some carrying passengers on an adventure, and some simply flying for enjoyment. Jets of every size, propeller planes, and leisure puddle jumpers. Flying the Friendly Skies Access to anywhere from the middle of everywhere with Mason City Municipal Airportįor the past 75 years, the Mason City Airport has seen countless planes come and go. Originally she enjoys the tune, and when it is identified it is clear that Uncle Charlie cannot stand it (for obvious conscious guilt reasons). I would also like to propose a question: When Uncle Charlie is watching little Charlie through the window, and his hands tense into a strangling motion, does the window represent the fact that he won’t be able to do it (as it is a barrier) or does it represent the link between them (as she would otherwise be obscured by the wall)?Īnother interesting feature Hitchcock used was the song that little Charlie had stuck in her head. At the end of the very same clip two people in black cloths waltz across the frame, which I believe is a hint at the widow and death themes. For instance, it is revealed that Charlie killed three different widows, and at three different points in the film a seemingly random clip of people dancing is played as a transition in this clip people dressed in white clothes dance across the screen, giving me the impression of a wedding. As a widow strangler, Uncle Charlie obviously has an interesting relationship with weddings, and I loved the way that Hitchcock foreshadowed and hinted at this throughout the film. I will start by presenting a theme that interested me greatly: marriage. In my analysis, I suggest that readers’ attribution of mental-states to the vampires in Matheson’s novel is strategically limited through a number of choices in their linguistic construal. I draw upon empirical research into ‘mind attribution’ in social psychology, and apply Cognitive Grammar (Langacker, 2008), and its notion of ‘construal’, as a framework for the application of such findings to narrative. In this article, I explore the application of such research to the minds constructed for the vampire characters in Richard Matheson’s 1954 science fiction/horror novel I Am Legend. I won’t give away the ending but it really brings the horror and existential crisis home in a gruesome way.For Palmer (2004, 2010), and other proponents of a cognitive narratology, research into real-world minds in the cognitive sciences provides insights into readers’ experiences of fictional minds. I particularly enjoyed the analysis of why vampires are afraid of crosses, Matheson develops a perfectly plausible explanation for all of the classic vampire tropes and does so in such a way that pushes the book from the territory of horror into science fiction. The situation that the protagonist is in is vividly and accurately expressed, a perfect portrayal of what one might go through under the circumstance of being alone and being surrounded by perceived monsters. What struck me as the most important element of this book was the way that emotion was handled and this is where the films truly lacked. I Am Legend is a story about vampires but takes a fresh science fiction interpretation of the classic monster. All three of the films pale in comparison with the book and leave out its most compelling aspects. Many of you have probably seen at least one of the three movies adapted from this short novel. |
